Interfaces to Machines and Plants
The seamless integration into the production environment is an important factor of efficiency, acceptance and ergonomy of BDE systems. Numerous machines, plants, scales or other peripherals are equipped for an automatic collection and storage of process and operations data. HYDRA comprises a number of technical possibilities to take over these data directly:

  • Machine interfaces for the capture of machine cycles (piece counter) and of operation and status signals that allow the detection of technical problems
  • Machine interfaces for the pick-up of analog signals like temperature, pressure, number of revolutions or speed
  • Data interfaces (RS485 oder V.24) communicating directly with the machine controls in NC machines, treatment centers, packing lines or injection moulding machines
  • Functional modules for the integration of industrial bus systems, like e.g. Euromap 63 (in combination with the blow moulding machines of the companies Engel, Demag und Krauss Maffei), Suconet, H1, Data Highway or the data bus of MOOG PLCs in blow moulding machines from Uniloy Milacron
  • Complex interfaces for the communication with data acquisition systems of various suppliers (e.g. Arburg ALS or Engel EMS).
  • The HYDRA Production Data Manager that can take over data from almost any other data collection system, via an interface with configuration possibility

HYDRA ensures a complete takeover of data and allows to do away with manual entries, costly and error prone, by machine operators and setup personnel. In addition the data interfaces may be used to transfer machine parameters, NC programs and other data to the machine control centers, to visualize drawings and photographs or to print out required documents on printers.
